Table Rules
What’s expected at the tables, and a little of why the room is run the way it is.
What’s Expected
Seats at a table are held for guests who’ve booked; a wait is likely if arriving without one on a busy night.
The house dealer’s ruling on any hand in dispute stands, and it is asked for only rarely.
Drinks at the tables run to tea, coffee, lemonade and water — nothing else is served at the felt.
Quiet is kept at the tables; louder conversation is welcome back near the tea counter instead.
A Room Built for Something Else

The room these rules apply to was built for felting benches, not card tables, and a little of that older use still shows in the high windows and open floor.
Keeping the room quiet and orderly matters more here than in a livelier room, given how little has changed about the space itself.
The Rest of It
Every guest at a table confirms they’re 18 or over at the door, without exception, before a card is dealt to them.
Chips are handed out for the evening and returned at the end of it; none are taken from the building.
Guests who’d rather not play are welcome to sit with someone at a table, so long as the seat isn’t needed for another booking.
Nothing at the tables is ever played for cash, and nothing about an evening here happens through a screen or an app.
